Professional Guardianship with Personalized Services
Recognized as experts in addressing the medical, environmental and psycho-social needs of the elderly and disabled, IKOR? is honored to serve the
regional courts as a Professional Guardian. IKOR® is currently appointed to serve as Guardian of Person and/or Guardian of the Estate.
Through the team efforts of the RN Patient Advocate and the Personal Needs Coordinator, IKOR? functions either independently or in conjunction with
financial specialists such as Trust Officers or Estate Attorneys to insure the stability of each individual?s life needs. From complete guardianship to
a simple power of attorney, clients' best interests are always the primary focus when selecting the right solution for issues that require guardianship
or other legal arrangements.
The IKOR® Approach to Guardianship
To accept the responsibility of serving as guardian is a profound commitment to the well being and life decisions of another. We at
IKOR® take this responsibility very seriously and carefully weigh every decision made on behalf of our wards.
Upon accepting the role of guardian, IKOR® begins our approach by reviewing all available information or documentation on the medical,
environmental and psycho-social status and determined needs of the individual. Because the nature of guardianship dictates that the ward may not have
the capacity to make life decisions, we communicate with any known family and friends in an effort to understand the prior life course and wishes of
the ward.
A team is created within IKOR®, comprised of an RN Patient Advocate and Personal Need Coordinator. Together this team creates and
puts into action both short-term and long-term strategic plans for the personal and financial aspects of the situation.
The IKOR® team continues to monitor services being rendered to make sure that our clients continue to receive high quality of service
and support, and proactively recommend modifications when needed.
